Tenshi no Wink (天使のウィンク)

Overview:

Tenshi no Wink (天使のウィンク) is a single album by Seiko Matsuda (松田聖子) released on January 30, 1985.
The song was written and composed by AMII Ozaki (尾崎亜美), a female singer-songwriter who broke away from the existing lyricist/composer.
Along with Pink no Mozart (ピンクのモーツァルト), it is evaluated as a single album where the meaning of the lyrics is not clearly conveyed.
According to the composer AMII Ozaki, it was originally thought that Takashi Matsumoto (松本 隆) would write the lyrics for the new single without any major changes, but Seiko Matsuda asked AMII Ozaki to write the lyrics two days before the release, saying that it would be okay if the lyrics were released. So, while panicking, she tried various methods to write lyrics, and while cleaning her room, she saw an angel in the dust, and she thought of a girl struggling with love and an angel listening to her worries.
Unlike her previous singles, this single has a particularly fast tempo and strong pop elements, and AMII Ozaki said that she wanted to try to change Seiko Matsuda’s image through this song. She said that she also had many concerns about whether she could write a song like this, but when Seiko Matsuda became a huge hit with this song, she felt proud as a singer-songwriter, and she said that it was the song she was most attached to.
It stayed at number one on the Oricon chart for two weeks, and it was her 20th single album, and it also ranked 20th in sales.
After announcing her engagement to Masaki Kanda (神田正輝), she appeared on The Best Ten and cried while thinking that it might be her last stage.
